Maybe you’re like me, and even after years of therapy, your ADHD symptoms continue to get in the way.  You’ve watched dozens of online workshops and webinars, and read every book recommended.  You’ve tried the diets and meditations.  You know a lot about ADHD, you are an expert!

What I’ve found, whether you know a little or a lot about ADHD, working with a Certified ADHD Life Coach can very well make the most significant difference.  Because a CALC will help you identify and work the nuts and bolts of what you want to be better.  Change is never easy, but I’ll be there with you to support you in your transformation.

 

FAQ: Who do you work with? Are you a therapist or social worker?

Life Coaching is not the same as therapy, and I am not a therapist, counselor, nor a social worker.  Therefore, if you currently are dealing with unmanaged depression, anxiety, or similar mental health issues, I ask that you also begin or continue to see your therapist.

I am a specially trained and Certified ADHD Life Coach (CALC).  I was officially diagnosed with ADHD in 2014, so I know what it’s like to feel as though your life is not in your control, that you’re not reaching your potential no matter how hard you try, nor how often you begin again.  I am happy to talk with you whether you’ve been diagnosed with ADHD or not.  Contact me for your complimentary consultation for your additional questions.

 

FAQ: What is Life Coaching, how does it work?

Life Coaching is a process where you can explore and consider changes to address problem areas in your life.  My role is as a collaborative thinking-partner, a sounding-board.  For each topic you bring, I will ask clarifying questions intended to help you get to the heart of the problem, to identify obstacles in the way of you reaching your goals, to evoke new self-awareness and new ways of thinking.  I will help you become able to identify the changes you need to make that will either eliminate or better manage the obstacles, to make your life better.  Between sessions, your homework will be to experiment using your new awareness and taking new actions.  Your weekly action plan will also include self-accountability steps, so you can see and track your progress.

FAQ: What is the process at Chapman ADHD Coaching?

1)  The first step is to schedule a 15 minute complimentary consultation, where I’ll ask you about yourself, what you’re experiencing, about your work and home life, and about your understanding of your ADHD.  You’ll be able to ask questions of me, too.  We’ll also find if we’ll be a good fit to work together.
2)  If we decide to go forward, the second step is to schedule a 90 minute more comprehensive Discovery, Planning, and Strategy session.  This isn’t a coaching session, but a “who are you, and what do you want to work on” session.  We’ll use Life Coaching tools to help us discover your values and beliefs, your tolerations and struggles, and what you desire to change about your life. 
3)  After the DPS session, your next decision is whether to proceed with coaching!  If you choose to do so, then you pick a coaching package and pay for it, and schedule your session.

FAQ: How do I prepare for our sessions?

Your coaching session is a time when we are focused on you.  Therefore, I ask that you have an “agenda” in mind before each session. This is something you want to work on, that you want to create change around.  Then, plan to call me at our scheduled time, take a deep breath, and we will get to work.

FAQ: Will we use Life Coaching tools?

During many of our sessions, we’ll converse about what’s happening in your life, and the changes you desire.  Using a process described as reflective inquiry, I will share back to you what I hear, and ask questions to help you find additional clarity.  We’ll also discuss the obstacles or barriers in your way. 

In addition to our conversations, many different coaching tools are available to help us explore who you are, to uncover your unique Core Values, Strengths, and Beliefs, whether postive or negative.  Each of these drive our behaviors in different ways, and sometimes we are affected quite surprisingly.

For example, two core values may be in conflict, each pushing or pulling at us, and leaving us stuck in indecision. Once the conflict is revealed, a better understanding can emerge, and our choices can become more clear.

FAQ: How long does life coaching take?

The duration of coaching depends upon individual needs. Most clients work with a coach from 3-6 months. That time frame allows us to establish a solid foundation, to identify your challenges and strengths, design and practice new strategies and habits, and to see progress, so that you can create lasting change. My main goal is to empower you, not to enable you. Typically, clients experience the best results the longer they work with a coach.  That said, you will benefit greatly with new strategies and solutions even if you decide to begin with a shorter coaching package.

ADHD can make us work much harder, whether in school, in college, or on the job.  It affects how we do things, can block motivation, and can undermine our goals.  Do you or your child come home drained?  ADHD absolutely saps our energy, because everything we do takes more of our energy than a “neurotypical” expends.  A life coach can help you learn strategies to manage your energy and get your work done.

This session is next after your consultation.  In this one 90-minute session, we learn about who you are, and what’s going on for you in terms of your ADHD symptoms, and we begin to dig into what you desire to change.

More about the 90-minute Discovery, Strategy, & Planning Session:

This is not a coaching session, instead it’s a time spent getting to know you and what you need and want different in your life.  We may use some coaching tools in our work together during this session, that are designed to help us discover your core values and strengths.  We may identify old beliefs that no longer serve you, or tolerations that are holding you back.   I will also ask you about your understanding and experience with your ADHD.

Note:  This session comes after the 30-minute Complimentary Consultation, and before picking one of the Coaching Packages.

Mini Package

With six 50-minute sessions over 6 weeks.  You learn how coaching works, as you begin working on your desired changes.

More about the 4-week Mini Package:

Some clients prefer to start with a shorter coaching package so they can experience the process before making a larger financial and time commitment. This is understandable, and is why I offer the Mini Package.

Please be aware:
1)  Because change takes time, you may find you must work harder to accomplish your goals in this shorter time frame, and you’ll work even harder afterward.  This is because ADHDers often find keeping commitments to themselves difficult, especially those connected to keeping new routines.

2)  I will support you as you work to make the changes you desire!

3)  All clients must first have met with me for their 15-minute complimentary consultation, followed by the 90-minute Discovery, Planning, and Strategy session, before choosing any other coaching package.

Medium Term Coaching Package

With ten (10) 50-minute coaching sessions over 3 months, plus 1 email check-in per week.

Clients are likely to accomplish more of their goals, with better outcomes for their desired long-term changes when they commit to the 3-month or longer term process.  Know that I am here to support you to make the changes you desire!
This Medium Term Coaching Package is for 10 sessions of 50 minutes each over a 3 month period, which allows a week or two break from coaching for a vacation, work-related travel, etc.

Please be aware:
1)  This package also provides 2 Bonus 15-Minute Quick Coach Sessions, in addition to the weekly email check-ins.  Scheduling of Quick Coach Sessions depends on appointment availability.

2)  The email check-ins will be initiated by you, and I will provide a short reply if needed.  Please use the emails to share your progress, any problems that you notice, how you are managing the problems (or if not), etc.  If you can, save your larger coaching-related topics for our actual sessions, so there is sufficient time to discuss.  You are welcome to email more than once per week, but I may not be able to reply to a second one.  My email address is at the top left of my website.

Clients are likely to accomplish more of their goals, with better outcomes for their desired long-term changes when they commit to a medium or longer term process.  This Longer Term Coaching Package is for 20 sessions of 50 minutes each over a 6 month period, which allows time for vacations, work-related travel, etc.

Please be aware:
1)  This package comes with 4 Bonus 15-minute Quick Coach Sessions, in addition to the weekly email check-ins.  Scheduling of Quick Coach Sessions depends on appointment availability.

A note of encouragement for you

I’m so glad you’re here, good for you!  You’ve made a good start.  Something led you to start looking at ADHD coaching websites.  Maybe you’ve researched before, but didn’t move forward for some reason.  Now’s your chance!
